WHAT WE DO

We are members of the Panasonic Digital Service Network . We repair Televisions, DVD Players & Recorders and audio products including Home Cinema. We also offer home visits to set products up to the internet via your router and perform software updates. We also repair Sony Televisions

We have been repairing Televisions since 1956. We have amongst the best qualified engineers in the UK who come with decades of experience. We are so confident of the quality of our repairs and servicing that we give as standard a 3 month warranty on all repairs.

SERVICE CENTRE

Our Service Centre is based at our Glenfield store. We offer home visits or you can bring your products to our workshop – we have our own car park. You can discuss problems with our engineers face-to-face – workshop hours are 9.00-1.00pm and 2.00-5.00pm. Call us on 0116 2871762 or e-mail dave@glenfieldtv.co.uk.

We give free repair estimates for products outside of warranty if purchased from Glenfield Television otherwise we charge an Inspection fee (see below)..

The Inspection must be paid before we will look at the item. It is deducted from the repair cost if it goes ahead (or off the price of a replacement product). A full written estimate will be provided if required.

Home visit charges (excl VAT)

And for a standard charge of £40 + VAT:

  • Internet-connection set-up – We’ll connect your TV to your router. There are 3 methods wirelessly via a dongle, using a “home-plug” or hard-wired by Ethernet. We’ll also set-up your SKYPE camera to your account. Hardware costs are not included.
  • Software update visit – Products containing a digital tuner (all new TV’s) will need to be re-tuned periodically as the transmitting authorities carry out maintenance to ensure you are receiving all the channels. This can be done by yourself. Please ask our staff (also refer to instruction book). We can come and do this for you, however, along with any software updates that may be required for the standard charge.

TRADING STANDARDS

Statement of Trading Standards

1. Response Times

For Rental customers we attend calls received before 11am the same day – after 11.00am it is the next working day.

For Glenfield Television customers for calls received before 5pm we aim to visit the next working day but in any event within two working days, providing customer access is available.

All other customers we aim to visit within two working days but, in any event within five working days.

2. Appointments

We will agree a mutually agreeable time slot to visit your home.  Our field engineers will call you, if necessary,  prior to setting off to visit you.  Glenfield TV will make every effort to meet customer requests where this is convenient.

3. Spares policy

Glenfield TV have a stock holding policy for spare parts and components. Where spares have to be ordered, we shall order them on the same day as the diagnosis is made, but in any event no later than the day following. Customers will be advised of any delay due to spares order placement. An effective order progress system is maintained by Glenfield TV..An effective “work in progress” system is maintained in our service centre and customers will be informed of any repair in progress with an excessive delay. All components will be at least equal to the original manufacturer’s specification or British standards institute specification, whichever is relevant.

Where a manufacturer’s warranty is applicable, Glenfield TV will not charge for any component unless the manufacturer refuses a free issue, free exchange or claimback value.

4. Guarantee

Repairs of all products are under guarantee against the recurrence of the same fault for a period of ninety days. A similar fault in the same section of the product during this period will carry a materials charge only. Unrelated repairs will be charged for in full.

5. Training

Glenfield TV undertake to ensure that fully trained and competent staff are used in all operational areas, and skills audits are undertaken by our quality department at regular intervals. Wer manage training in conjunction with manufacturers for all new products in order to develop further technical skills for the benefit of its clients.

6. Control

Glenfield TV ensure adequate protection of products whilst repairs are being carried out.

7. Indemnity and insurance

Glenfield TV guarantee to indemnify the customer against any claims or costs arising out of faulty workmanship or on accidental damage to a customer’s home whilst on a home visit.

8. Customer relations
